Sometimes: Both a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis can cause vulvovaginal irritation and itching. It is usually more intense with yeast and odorless.

Maybe: I hate to be a stick in the mud, but... A bacterial overgrowth more likely causes a vaginal discharge and odor. A yeast overgrowth more likely causes vaginal itching only, without with discharge and odor. There are some otc products, like monostat, that you can try if you think you have a yeast infection causing itching. Otherwise, you may need to see your fp about getting Flagyl for bv.
