A member asked:

Are lordosis and kyphosis fixable at the age of 45?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If one is suffering from intractable pain or neurologic deficit, one can have surgery to correct abnormal curvature. Minimally invasive techniques have made these procedures safer, but spine surgery is still a major endeavor. There is a normal amount of lordosis in the neck and back, and kyphosis in the thoracic spine to provide sagittal balance, or overall balance to the entire spinal column.
