Can't predict: If you have not had any major trauma (such as a bad car accident) to cause the x-ray findings, then you may just have some mild early disc degeneration. The majority of patients with mild early disc degeneration will do fine with simple conservative treatment and will not have chronic pain. I would recommend further discussion with your physician.
