Seizure equivalent?: My first concern here is seizure equivalents in the temporal lobe. A physician's office visit and likely referral to a neurologist and/or getting an electroencephalogram would be in order first.

Partial seizures or: Partial seizures can occur even though there is no loss of consciousness (not pass out or fall with twitching). Sleep deprivation if very severe could cause these spells" as well. Is there an associated headache? Migraine equivalents do you feel your knees buckle when you experience intense emotion? Narcolepsy. Any recent head injury? Symptoms of infection other than fever - malaise, sweats?
