Green stools : The color of the stool, being green does not mean that your baby is having a problem, it just happen that the bile pigment goes out in the stool before it can get reabsorped from the intistine also it can reflect the color of the food we eat. So relax & enjoy your baby. Good luck.

Normal: The stool color is provided by the bile from the liver that is adds to fecal debris. It starts out a deep green & slowly changes thru greens to yellows to browns as the germs in the intestines metabolize the bile.Green generally means the stool in question moved through faster or was subject to less change by gut germs.

Green stools: Stool color in infants can vary depending on their diet, especially of consuming pureed foods such as green vegetables. Green stools are also common when an infant has upper respiratory congestion that is being swallowed and passed in the stool. Stool colors that would be concerning are white (Acolic), red (with blood) or black (digested blood). Fortunately, these are rare occurrences.
