A member asked:

Eating pineapples for gerd? good, or bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"TryIt,You'llLikeIt": Well, why don't you try it and see if it works for you. It's very acidic (I burned my tongue eating too much of it once) but it also contains bromelain, a complex protein digester ("proteolytic enzyme") but not in very great amounts(0.2 mg/mL, although more than most other fruits). Touted as a natural digestive aid,I haven't found it very useful. In fact I usually have to pop a Tums (calcium carbonate) after eating it
