Depends where: there can be a lot of things that can cause discomfort to the back it can be muscular it can be skeletal, it could be internal organs such as the gallbladder or the kidneys which have inflammation that is felt in the back. Also the intestines. Even lung problems could cause this. This is something to discuss with your physician
