Sleep Apnea: No you don't have to do anything, however, it will improve your life dramatically. I have sleep apnea and use a nasal CPAP. I sleep like a baby, have more energy than every before. It may be the type of mask or machine you use. Discuss with your sleep doctor or FP or IM options for you. By the way my 53 lb weight loss may help me get rid of mine.

Depends on severity: Sleep apnea is rated on severity, but there is no easy answer about treatment in your case. You can be tested by a sleep study with a CPAP machine to see if it will reduce or eliminate the obstructions. The main reason for treatment is to reduce the risk of complications like cognitive dysfunction and heart disease from the sleep apnea.

The definitive test is a PSG with split night/CPAP titration. I would request copy of sleep study and get a second opinion if you are not satisfied with the options. You are young CPAP can be difficult to tolerate. ENT FOR UPP EVAL.
