What causes bv and what are the symptoms?

Bacterial vaginosis : Bacterial vaginosis is usually the result of the loss of the normal bacteria ( predominantly peroxidase positive lactobacillus) resulting in the over growth of anaerobic bacteria. The main symptom is a foul smelling discharge described as smelling like dead fish. It doesn't usually cause much itching or burning. You can have a yeast infection at the same time which does itch.Hope this helps.
