A member asked:

Do multivitamins work or are they really just toxic to the body ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

As with all things,: As with all things, moderation is the key. If a person has a very well-balanced diet (that gives him all the daily recommended amounts of the typical vitamins and minerals) then multivitamin supplements don't work, meaning they don't add a noticeable benefit for him. If he is unsure or he lacks enough of a vitamin, then the supplement works, meaning it helps. Too much of anything can become toxic.
