They support diet: Most americans' diets are deficient in vit. D, e a, folate, (folic acid) calcium ; magnesium. Also many are deficient in vit c, b6 ; zinc. Multivitamins can help make up for these deficiencies, although it's best to get your vitamins from a healthy diet. You want a quality multivitamin with natural vit e ; tocotrienols, with methylfolate, (folic acid) methylcobalamin, and at least 1000iu of vit d. Might need more vit d.

Work for what?: Vitamins are not a substitute for a healthy diet but the majority of americans are deficient in a, e, d, calcium, mag. ; folate (folic acid) ; over 1/3 deficient in c, b6 ; zinc. Even it you get the recommended amounts there is strong evidence of benefits of amounts far higher. Thus, vitamins may both help you to feel better ; prevent chronic illnesses, but eat a healthy diet as well. See http://bit.Ly/18xyule.
