Yes and no.: It is highly treatable, though sometimes the treatment may be complex. Only incorrect treatment could make it worse; but if that happens, correct treatment can then follow. The typical challenge -- though not universal-- involves patients not seeking or declining treatment.

Mood stabilizers: Mood stabilizers are used to treat bipolar disorder. Lithium and depakote would be two examples of mood stabilizers but there are others, depending on symptoms, and depending on what works for the patient.
