Hernia op 3 weeks ago, direct inguinal, still leaking serum. incision kept open to drain. doctor says getting better but still leaking. why? how long?

Soon: This should stop leaking soon. If it is still going on for another 3 weeks or so, you may need to go back to the operating room to place a drain and try to use the wound. It could also require removal of the mesh if one was used. Hang in there for now, it should stop soon. Hope this helps!
