I had a reversal colostomy in june 2013. my incision opened and has not closed and still draining. belly large & have hernia. md not concerned.

Wound healing: If there is no fecal fistula ( stool in the wound ) will heal soon , not uncommon problem other conditions play a part like diabetes , obesity , poor circulation etc , some times vacuum drainage will help , ask you your doctor to refer you to wound care specialist.

Second opinion: Sounds like you should have a consultation with a general or plastic surgeon with experience in abdominal wall reconstruction for complex incisional hernias. You can check the americas hernia society website to find surgeons interested in hernia repair.
