Why RU taking it?: Spironolactone suppresses male hormones in both men and women. It can cause menstrual irregularities & breast tenderness in women. If you're taking it b/c of excessive body hair, a combined oral contraceptive with low androgen effect might control those side effects without reducing its effectiveness. Natural progesterone is less convenient since it isn't absorbed orally. Talk w/ your doctor!
