Unlikely: Just when i think I have heard everything. Ankles edema can occur with prolonged standing in older people but i doubt this would be a cause in a 26 year old. If you have a diabetic neuropathy that could be a cause as would kidney involvement. Have your doc evaluate.

Yes: But there are many causes of swollen ankles including elevated sugar, htn, congestive heart failure and kidney disease to name a few.
