Often mysterious: Nobody really knows why this happens. I suspect that it's due to a minor nerve injury, with the denervated motor end plates extra sensitive to acetylcholine; if the blood levels go up for a moment, the muscle twitches. Just my idea. Generally this goes away. Despite "pop" wisdom, electrolyte problems don't present this way. Hope you're staying physically fit. Best wishes.
