A member asked:

Our 1 year old daughter has high serum foliate levels. what does this mean? should we reduce foliate in her diet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High folate (folic acid): folate (folic acid) level in the serum depends on the recent status of folate (folic acid) intake. to be more accurate you need to check RBC folate (folic acid) .. there is no harm from high folate (folic acid) because the body get rid of the excess. DONT REDUCE THE FOLATE (folic acid) INTAKE
