It depends: Generally opiates relieve pain and anxiety , hence likely to lower blood pressure. If, however, a patient is going in and out of withdrawal from short acting opiates or is experiencing possible side effects such as sleep apnea or endocrine problems then it is quite possible even likely to see elevations of blood pressure. Your prescriber should help you with these concerns.
