Eustachian tube: Sounds like you had some pressure build up in your ear due to the pressure valve(eustachian tube) between your upper throat and ear not equalizing pressure properly. It can fluctuate in intensity. It could have been aggravated by the pressure changes of swimming or other factors. Sometimes decongestants can help clear it up. If it persists, see a doctor.
