Acne medications: Topical Clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide can be used safely for a prolonged period of time. Usually when there are side effects, they are seen relatively quickly with redness, dryness or irritation. If these meds are doing well to control acne, there is no reason to stop them other than during pregnancy.

Safe long-term: You can use these medicines for decade without harming yourself. It's much better than having acne scars. I am glad they are working.
