Systemic Rx: Acne on the trunk usually requires systemic medication. Ask your physician whether an antibiotic such as a tetracycline or macrolide is right for you, or whether some other rx is appropriate.

Back acne treatments: For minor back acne, a benzoyl peroxide wash is often helpful. For inflamed cysts and nodules, one would need both oral and topical medications. Modifying the diet to exclude dairy and high glycemic carbs is often helpful in decreasing acne breakouts.
