Infection: Swelling and pain on one side of the face is an indication of an infection. Untreated it could become life threatening. Call you dentist ASAP.

See DDS ASAP: See dentist immediately. If you are swollen, an infection is evident and the area needs to be addressed, either with drainage or extraction coupled with antibiotics. Do not wait for the infection to get worse.
