Dysmenorrhea:: That's the name for painful periods. The color of the blood changes during the course of the period and doesn't have much significance (unless it was green or blue!) It's important to make sure you don't have a chronic infection, if you have had unprotected sex. Discuss other options for decreasing pain during periods. BTW, simethicone (Gas-x) can help with the bloating/diarrhea.
