Not normal: Are you sure you're not pregnant? If not, then take a pregnancy test. Abnormal bleeding can be from all sorts of things: infections, medications, stress, travel, changes in your weight, uterine polyps, fibroids, to name a few. Any woman over 35 who has extra bleeding (between periods) or cycles shorter than 21 days should see a doctor for an evaluation.
