A member asked:

I recently had anomaly scan 19 weeks. sonographer said there's some fluid in baby's kidney .is it normal, as he didn't book me for another scan. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Get another scan: Fluid in the baby's kidneys is not "normal," but is somewhat common. I think you are describing renal pylectasis, or dilation of kidney. This often will resolve on its own, but you should still have follow-up. Your doctor will probably recommend this in 2-4 weeks, depending on severity.
