A member asked:

I got a 4th generation hiv rapid test done 4 weeks after possible exposure. it was clean. is this conclusive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Rapid Antibody/antigen based tests have not proven conclusively superior to previous antibody tests. A 3 months window of undetectable activity is still possible. Detection if viral RNA within 1-3 weeks of exposure remains most reliable
