Achilles tendonitis : If it is running in the back of the heel. A calcified tendon or posterior spur or haglund's deformity are other possibilities.

Not so Fast: The location of the pain you describe certainly sounds like you are having an episode of Achilles tendonitis and that can be challenging to treat. It appears that you may be taking skelaxin (metaxalone) and ibuprofen already, and you are experiencing pain that is getting worse. The heel needs to be rested. This will give the tendon time to recover without adding further injury. My concern is a possible tearing
