Move your feet : When sitting, stand up and take a walk every 45 minutes to an hour. Speak to your doctor about wearing support hose.

See below: Try to get up and stretch and move around every hour. You may want to wear support stockings to help avoid swelling of feet and ankles.

Be prepared: Be sure to wear properly measured and fitted shoes. Do not forget to bring along your medication. Control you blood sugar. Get up occasionally and walk around for a few steps. Aks you doctor if you should wear compression stockings to prevent blood clots.
