broken pinky toe? stubbed it hard, its red and swollen. cant bear any weight at all. excruiting pain. no bruising yet. been about 10 hrs.

Possible fracture: Requires examination, x-ray and splinting. OK to use Advil or Aleve (naproxen) for pain/swelling if not allergic to these medications, Local ice for the first 24-48 hours.

The treatment if it is broken is just to tape it to the next toe and wear hard sole shoes. Us ice for 24 hours then heat. NSAIDs can help with the pain.
