I've injured my toe (turf toe) 9 weeks ago. x-rays show no fracture. there has been no bruising or any swelling. why so long to heal?

Toe injury: sometijes the initial x- ray may be negative. You may want to do a follow up x-ray, sometimes fracture lines or healing fractures can show up on these images

Tough Turf Toe.: Turf toe describes an injury that hyperextends the great toe dorsally. This sudden force can disrupt the soft tissue that surrounds the 1st metatarsal phalangeal joint. This may include capsule, ligaments, tendons and any other soft tissue that in in the area. Treatment includes the RICE sequence. In some cases a cast or cam walker may be used. Depending on the severity, Figure 2 to 8 weeks.
