Prob'ly no infection: Most prostatitis is not due to infection. In uncommon cases of true infectious prostatits, it cannot be caught by hand-genital contact. "Prostate bacteria" are the same ones normal in intestines and genital tract and would not harm your wife. I doubt you have true prostatitis, probably all psychogenic. Google and read up on chronic pelvic pain syndrome; the Wikipedia article is good.
