A member asked:

Does ct scan help to detect what's really going on with my prostate gland if i have chronic non-bacterial prostatitis?

Dr. James Lin answered

CT scan, useless : Prostatitis is still a clinical diagnosis, but the use of this term has been overused, misused, and even abused for professional convenience. Nonetheless, a knowledgeable and conscientious expert should be able to make a reasonable diagnosis and provide reasonable treatment. For detail, you may go to www.Urololgyhealthy.Org or www.Webmd.Com. As to using ct for prostatitis, it's clinically useless.
