Either one!: Ask for either one. But it is crucial to be open and honest about your health history, including your drug abuse & sexual history, otherwise the proper tests won't be ordered. The terms physical and check-up mean basically the same things. Tell your doc your correct history and the proper examination and tests can be done. Also, if money is a problem, health departments can do some tests & exams
