What can cause hearing distortions? i was sitting overhearing a conversation and all of a sudden the conversation sounded like it was in a tunnel, echoey and distorted voices. i couldn't understand the words. it lasted about 30 seconds

Distorted voices: May beear infection/fluid, versus early shingles. rarely could be potine angle tumor or MS . You are rather young for carotid, vascular issue or CVA F/u with ENT

It MAY be something: as simple as needing the wax cleaned out of your ears or something more complex. Please see you doc who will help you. Peace and good health.
