Greenfield Filter: A Greenfield Filter is a titanium vascular filter placed in the inferior vena cava and is designed to "capture" pieces of clots formed in the legs or pelvis that break off, thereby preventing them from traveling to the lungs. The filter does not treat in situ clots or prevent clots from propagating.
