Why is my sed,crp normal even with pleurisy and swollen joints and prednisone is only thing that helps? sle. why does it not pick up on the inflamm?

No easy answer: Please forgive me. Sed rate and C-reactive protein are famously unreliable markers for inflammation in lupus and suspected lupus. A different pathway of inflammation is often involved. Despite "pop" ideas about "inflammation", inflammation enormously complicated. If it weren't, common painkillers would clear depression, which some folks describe as "a form of inflammation."
