No easy answer: Please forgive me. Sed rate and C-reactive protein are famously unreliable markers for inflammation in lupus and suspected lupus. A different pathway of inflammation is often involved. Despite "pop" ideas about "inflammation", inflammation enormously complicated. If it weren't, common painkillers would clear depression, which some folks describe as "a form of inflammation."
