Depends on makeup: Whitest part of normal tissues on radiograph is bone containing calcium. Soft tissues containing blood and water are less white or gray. Fat is lucent or much less dense. The least dense is air as in lungs which is seen as black. If metal in surgical devices and pacemakers is included on radiograph it is denser than bone
