had a pimple like spot on right side of my throat, didn't hurt but irritating.. can feel it with the back of my tongue.. still swollen.it popped. and the "head" i spit out and it was thick like a pimple head. the spot is still swollen and is open, is star

Viral pharyngitis: You need symptomatic treatment such as salt water gargle , cepacol sore throat lozenges and some otc pain medication. It takes 7-10 days to go away. See your doctor if it does get worse instead of getting better.

agree this is probably a simple infectious problem. If after a number of weeks of standard treatment the area does not resolve show it to your internist or ENT physician for a professional opinion
