Be careful: Much of the research behind pre/post workout nutrition is more related to optimizing performance and muscle hypertrophy(gain). If you are working out for general fitness and possibly more so weight loss, your goal(s) may be very different from above and need to reflect that in how and what you eat before and after working out.
