Mom recently diagnosed with epilepsy. 53 years old. only seizure shes ever had. shes now on medication. can she still have a full life expenctancy?

Yup: Sometimes the first seizure is the ONLY seizure someone ever has. The decision about treatment is rather variable, and hard to say without knowing the history, exam, EEG, MRI, etc. Having said that, very typically life expectancy is fine.
