A member asked:

Is copd more genetic or environmental? my grandpa had copd but was a 2 pack a day cigarette smoker from age 15 to 70

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually caused by: things in the air you breathe, such as cigarette smoke, asbestos silica, etc. But there are certain genetic conditions such as cystic fibrosis that can end up with copd.
