I gave myself an enema this evening and passed a few blood clots and there was a little other blood. is this normal, is there reason to be concerned?

Abnormal: Rectal bleeding is abnormal and must be evaluated. In your case it could have been due to trauma from the enema or from hemorrhoids. However growths,inflammation of the colorectal area or diverticulosis could be the cause. Discuss this episode with your physician who may recommend an examination or advise you at least to observe for any further rectal bleeding.
