Avoid: Monitor for symptoms of neurologic sequela such prolonged unconsciousness, mental status alterations, abnormal neuro exam, headache, blurred vision, vomiting seizures, slurred speech. Monitor closely for 24 hrs. Avoid repeated trauma. Brain damage can occur as a result of chronic head trauma. CTE chronic traumatic encephalopathy is now being diagnosed in football players, boxers, hockey players.
