Hello what's the difference between metoprolol tartrates 50mg and metoprolol extended release 50mg thank you?

Duration: Metoprolol tartrate is given twice a day while the extended release form is only given once a day. To be equivalent to metoprolol tartrate 50 mg twice a day, one would have to take 100 mg once a day of the extended release form.
