Not harmful: Prolonged computer use is drying to the eyes which is probably why they are red. It will not cause permanent harm to the eyes. It is helpful to keep a bottle of lubricating drops next to the computer. At your age, you might consider some other recreation especially one that substitutes for the gym or broadens the mind.
