Spironolactone: Adult female acne is common. May be worse with certain androgenic birth control hormones. Worse if PCOS. Do you have normal menstrual periods? Antibiotics work for about 10% of these people. The antiandrogen SPIRONOLACTONE will usually clear this in 3 months, then continue if success. Not if pregnant, kidney failure. Do not take potassium pills. If this fails, oral isotretinoin will rescue you.
