Depends: This depends on the type of hernia, and the technique for repair. For groin hernias, lap repair has a 1-2 week recovery period, and open repair has a 2-4 week recovery period. Ventral or incisional hernias are highly variable, thus its more difficult to say. Odd are highly in your favor you'll be just fine. Pain is tolerable, and treatable. Lots of folks get though it. Hope this helps!

It depends: it is really depend how the hernia war repaired. open VS laproscopic. tension free using a screen VS repair with tension. what kind of hernia repaired, direct VS indirect VS femoral So as you could see there is a lot of variety. average pain is 4-6 weeks. that the average restriction before returning to a regular activity. good luck, and do not panic,ou are OK
