Conversation!!: Open discussion with your doctor about your concerns is the most important part of a check up visit. Review of your medications, past medical history, and family history is also important. At age 38 there is little of import to do by way of a physical exam other than measuring your blood pressure. If your cholesterol was normal within the past five years then this doesn't need checking again.
