Encourage fluids: The most important thing to do is to keep your child hydrated, as these illnesses can lead to dehydration. Encourage him/her to drink lots of fluids - offer them more frequently than normal. Pedialyte is the best thing for children to drink. If the child has fever, blood in the stools, or persistent diarrhea >1 week or shows signs of dehydration like decreased urination or lethargy, see your doc.

Other symptoms???: A 3yo that has runny poo daily x3 but is running around happy & playful, urniating every 6 hrs or more & keeping down fluids is one you can work with at home. Applesauce/bananas/ noodles & rice might help firm her naturally. If she's quiet, inactive & reluctant to move or play she deserves a trip to the dr. If she hasn't voided in 8 or more hrs she needs a lookover.Good luck!
